I have worked in the childcare industry for approx 2 years (one as an assistant & one as a group leader for Junior Kindy) but I found in “commercial environments” it was too much about paper work and not about the children. My approach to looking after children is to respect them and they will respect you. While children do need an authority figure as a caring for them, I believe they respond better to some one that will be their friend. I have cared for children from the ages of 0 – 5 years old whilst working in childcare, but I also have 4 nieces aged 1 – 9 that I regularly care for. Ideally I am seeking a full time nanny position, will consider live in position.
