  • Full Time Nanny and House Manager [Posted by: Jennifer C in New Farm, Queensland]   Posted on 04-Aug-2018
Pay: Negotiable ( must be at least the minimum legal award rate )
We are seeking a professional nanny and house manager who can work up to full time on Mon, Tues, Thurs and Friday (mum doesn't work on Wednesdays). We are in a transition phase with our almost 5 yo son at kindy five days per fortnight, who will begin school next year (and our 6 yo daughter already at school). So, at the moment we need someone who can provide full time childcare two days per week plus before and after school care on the other two days. Then, from next year we need someone who can provide before and after school care on all four days (including kids dinnertime and bath time as mum gets home from work about 30 mins before the kids bedtime and dad often later). Ideally we would like to employ someone full time or close to full time who can act as our house manager during the day, performing odd jobs, preparing meals, light household duties, washing etc (NB we separately hire a cleaner). However, there is some flexibility with hours and we would consider applicants who prefer to do their own thing during school hours. We really want someone who is interested in working with our family for the medium to long term (our current nanny is leaving after almost four years). Qualities we value in a nanny are someone who is caring, engaged, optimistic and really wants to connect with the kids, and who is responsible, reliable, mature and shows initiative (and must be a non-smoker). We will pay $25-$30/hr depending on experience/qualifications and do everything by the book with tax, super etc, plus pay an additional petrol allowance of $80/fortnight. The current (full time) position comes with four weeks of annual leave and 10 days of sick leave per year, optional overtime for occasional evening babysitting (paid at 1.5 x the base wage) and occasional paid trips to Melbourne/Sydney with the family. Applicants must have their own car but we provide child seats.
