  • Sarah G - 25 year old Female   Last logged on 25-May-2016

Hi, my name is Sarah, I have recently relocated to Brisbane from England where I have worked as a Primary School Teacher for four years. As a teacher, I have cared for and taught children aged 4-11 including children with medical needs. I have always built up an excellent relationship with each child in my class and have a friendly nature. I am using this opportunity to take a break from full time teaching and enjoy the time I have here in Australia. Whilst in Brisbane, I have been a nanny for a girl aged 19 months on a part time basis and have done some casual work for a family of 5 children aged 6-12. I have just accepted a new position with a lovely family whose little boy is 13 months. I will be working for the family on Monday, Tuesday and Friday so I would like to find a second family to work with on Wednesdays and Thursdays. Due to my teaching experience, I feel that I am able to offer nurturing care to children whilst also supporting their development as I have an excellent knowledge of the development points for children from birth-11. I have lots of ideas for fun and educational activities to do with children and would be able to support children with homework if needed. I am happy to help around the house and I have grown up caring for pets so would be able to support families who have pets. Away from work, I enjoy reading, arts and crafts, hiking and pilates. I have a police check, drivers license and blue card. I am a registered teacher here in Queensland. I also have a first aid certificate and experience of caring for children with asthma and severe food allergies. Please do get in touch if you think I could be the right nanny for you or if you would like to know anything else about me.

Hi, I have taken care my nieces and nephews. I have 2 grown up kids where one of them is 17 years and another one is 20 years old. Patience is my greatest virtue, I have the benefit of this virtue as most parents are usually very conscious when it comes to children. I have single-handedly brought up my sister's kids which is why I am aware of the needs of infants. I can also cater to the needs of children up to 13 years in terms of assisting them with homework and driving them to activities. Doing laundry and errands is my strongest point which is why household work is a piece of cake for me.

  • Alexis M - 21 year old Female   Last logged on 23-May-2016

I'm a nursing student with a passion for helping and looking after others. I've done multiple hospital placements involving caring for patients, and I currently work as a support worker(casual) and assist/look after many elderly or disabled clients, some of whom are young. This job also involves many domestic tasks, such as cleaning and cooking, so I'm more than happy to cook and clean as well. I also have some direct babysitting experience as I have babysitted my cousin and other family friends' children(including those as young as 2) over the past 5 or so years. I don't have any preference in regards to the ages of anyone I'm looking after, as the age range of the people I currently care for(in hospital and in my job) is extremely diverse. I'm available to work any time I'm not at university as my work schedule is very flexible.

  • Katherine D - 29 year old Female   Last logged on 17-May-2016

Hello, I am a very caring and patient young lady and I have industry experience in Europe and Australia. I have recently returned to Australia from Greece, where I worked as a nanny for 4 different families (a total of 10 children). I began as a full-time nanny for 2 children (ages 2 and 4) and as the youngest child grew older and went to pre-school, I stayed as a part-time nanny and was approached by other families to care for their children in the mornings, evenings and weekends. I cared for infants as young as 13 months and children as old as 7 years. My jobs included feeding, changing, bathing and teaching English through fun and age-appropriate activities. I was in charge of taking the kids to playgroups, dance lessons, language lessons, the swimming pool, the beach, the park and parties. I enjoy organising activities that help the children's development in all aspects. Such activities include Physical play; arts and craft; card games/ Board games/ puzzles; Dress-ups and building blocks. I am currently studying "Children's Services" (early childcare) and I believe childcare is a very rewarding career path. I have a Blue Card and First Aid and can provide referees/ reference letters. I am looking for a part-time or full-time position and I have full availability. I also have a current driver's license, clean driving record and my own car. I have also studied in Acting and Dance, and to a lesser extent Singing and Piano. My hobbies include painting, art, yoga and sports. I am dedicated to a healthy lifestyle and try to teach the children in a fun way (eg. "Why don't we go kick a ball outside instead of watching tv"; "When we eat our vegetables/meat and drink our water, our bodies help up to become big and strong, like Superman"). As I am quite artistic and theatrical, I found myself very well suited to child-care work. I have been referred jokingly to as "the Pied Piper of children" because it seems every child loves spending time with me.

  • Elspeth H - 25 year old Female   Last logged on 13-May-2016

A Certificate III qualified, fully insured and registered Nanny. I have over 5 years experience as a private nanny working with the infant age group 3 months - 24 months. I have a current Blue Card and first aid certificate (including CPR, asthma, anaphylaxis and infant sleep training). I am an artists and live and work out of my creative space in Woolloongabba. I am currently the proud nanny to a gorgeous 11 month old boy and care for him in my own home. I have a small, comfortable nursery that is up to code across the board and currently have vacancies in my ‘nest’ on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays. My goal as a nanny is to give one on one quality care to infants and love them as if they were my own. I am passionate about nurturing creativity and imagination in infants and run a series of art activities during a typical day of care. Art is a delightful way through which you can record the development of your child’s growth. Creating art is a way for babies and toddlers to make choices and solve problems. Every step involves making a decision: what colour to use, how to make a line, what size to make something. With every choice the object becomes more and more their own, which engages your toddler or baby in ideas that provide the foundation for future learning. This is a boutique style care, $20 - $25 per hour and catering for all types of routines. Any enquires are welcome, excellent references can be given upon request and further information. Look forward to hearing from/meeting my new clients.

  • Christine W - 53 year old Female   Last logged on 10-May-2016

50 year old female babysitter and nanny My name is Christine and I am a mother of three grown children and grandmother to three little ones. I love kids as they’ve brought so much joy to my life and I’ve been lucky to have worked with children for more than 20 years. During this time I’ve had extensive experience with kids aged 0-15 years old. I have formal childcare qualifications from TAFE as well as a life’s worth of personal hands-on experience from raising my own three children as well professional experience having been a primary school teacher’s aide for 13 years. In addition to my love of and experience in tending to children, I also have a particular interest and extensive knowledge of childhood development. With children who are in my care when I’m nannying, I have found great success in engaging the kids in conversation and tailoring activities to suit them – this can be anything from riding their bikes, to playing on the swings, to cooking and crafting. My goal is always to make sure our time together is both special and beneficial. Having 20+ years experience in the field of Early Childhood I see myself as a professional career nanny and not as a fly by night carer wanting easy cash. I understand the challenges involved in raising children (having been a ‘mum’ to many!) including stages of weaning children onto solid foods, toilet training, discipline, separation anxiety and school readiness and right up to High School. I feel this will benefit any family whom which decides to appoint me as their nanny. I take my role as nanny/educator seriously and prefer to undertake positions that will enable me to establish a relationship with a family for the long term benefit of all involved. I am a responsible individual, hard working and reliable willing to undertake whatever tasks necessary to maintain a harmonious balance with the family home. I also like to spend time with you as parents in those early stages so that I can learn what’s important to you during the time that I have with your children – I’m happy to maintain any established routines and work within the parameters you set. Of course I have a Blue Card and first aid and can offer glowing references from the families for whom I’ve worked. Looking for: Casual Evening Babysitting, Casual Weekend Babysitting, Full-time Daytime Work, Overnight Stays Education Status: Course Complete - Early Childcare at Cooloola TAFE Other Skills: Arts and crafts, games. I find an interest in anything to do with children and child's play Residency status: Permanent

  • Hannah L - 23 year old Female   Last logged on 29-Apr-2016

Hi there My name is Hannah from the U.K. currently living in Brisbane having just left Bundaberg doing a little bit of farm work for my second year visa! I left home for Asia in early September and visited Thailand, Cambodia, Vietnam, Laos, Bali, Lombok and the Gili islands which was just fabulous. I moved to Bundaberg from Melbourne and have been enjoying getting stuck into the farm work in hope to gain my second year visa, which we are yet to complete our 88 days. We have just moved to Brisbane as farm work ran dry for a short while, and we decided on a new adventure in hope of finding a job, and due to my previous experience and carer I would love a role with a family or a childcare setting. I am an experienced and qualified nanny and children's teacher with two degrees and nine years experience with children. I have recently been a nanny for one family for two years which was brilliant and impossible to leave, we are still in super regular contact. I would love the opportunity to apply for the ad you have advertised on gumtree. I am available as soon as needed and full of energy and enthusiasm! I have so missed being part of a lovely family and being with children daily, as I'm sure you will agree it is super rewarding watching them grow and seeing their little personalities develop. When I left my previous main nanny role I had just helped teach the youngest how to read and my goodness, it is the best feeling in the world! I am full of energy, I love the outdoors and going on adventures. I love getting messy with paints and arts and crafts, and using our imaginations where ever possible! I have a get up and go attitude and love challenges and new experiences! Here is a little resume for my childcare. I have also had a small amount of experience on a farm previously, looking after animals. Qualifications; University of Chichester - Bachelor of Arts Honours Early Childhood Studies with professional practice degree Early year’s professional status Paediatric first aid certificate Criminal record check Fire safety warden training certificate BTEC National diploma in health and social care Full UK clean driving licence Victorian RSA Previous experience; Nanny - private family - August 2013-September 2015 - Children aged 5, 8 and 11 - Cirencester Mainly sole charge, however mother would be around sometimes too. The role included meal preparation and meal time management, school pickups, homework help, general house duties including laundry, tidying the children's toys and games room, creating simulating and fun activities for the children to keep them entertained outdoors exploring and inside doing interesting and fun activities together. Many day trips to various places which we all enjoyed and I would always join family holidays. I have been a part of a dance academy since I was four, which I sadly gave up to focus on my studies at university. I used this knowledge to become a dance teacher for the little girl I looked after and her friends for two years which was wonderful! Gooseberry bush day nursery - December 2014-August 2015 - Cirencester I was mainly based in the room with 12 to 24 month old children; however I worked in every room in this setting as staff were moved frequently to gain experience and knowledge throughout the age groups. I loved my role here as I had key children and had responsibility of keeping the tracking up to date, after doing observations and developed a bond with these children and their families. Another role of mine was to create stimulating activities based on my tracking, on each individual child using the early year’s foundation stage program to help each child progress Children’s Camp Manager - Supercamps children's holiday camp Easter and summer holidays 2012 and 2013 - I was a manager of a children's holiday camp during the holidays. This meant I had to set up the camp each holiday, train the new staff, and run the camp over the whole period. I worked with mainly the early year’s children as I had a deputy manager with the older children however I was often with them also during busy periods. I had to ensure every child was cared for a safe but also enjoying their time at camp. As camp manager I was responsible for each and every child at camp, including safety and wellbeing, but also making sure each and every child was catered for while my team and I were creating the schedule for the day, considering age and ability as just a few of the factors. This job was challenging however I really enjoyed having the responsibility and working alongside my team to create a fun environment for the children to spend time at during they’re school holidays. The grange nursery - May 2013 - August 2013 I gained experience with children aged 24 months to three, however I moved around when needed. I carried out all the nursery duties and worked as a team member within my room to ensure all needs were met for the children each day. We had a child with autism in our room whom I was chosen to be 1:1 with and we bonded well and I managed to progress very well with this child which I was hugely proud of. Fordwater school for children with special needs - December 2012- May 2013 - Chichester I volunteered here for a year with the children aged 4 – 7 to gain experience while at university. Each child had a different complex special need and I worked together with my team to create an inclusive environment for each individual child no matter what the activity was and ensure meal times were done correctly and each child’s personal hygiene were cared for to the best standard possible. We often had a one child to one adult radio which meant you had the responsibility on that day of creating an enjoyable but stimulating setting for your ‘buddy’ child, and making sure all their personal exercises and medicine were taken care of. References and more previous experience available on request. Anyway, my number is 0481729339 if you would like to ask me anything or have a chat! I am also available on this email! Thank you so much for taking time to read this, I appriciate it Look forward to hopefully hearing from you.

Hello families! I am Brooke, an educator living in Boyne Island. I relocated from the sunshine coast to Boyne Island October 2013 and I am adoring the laid-back beach meets countryside atmosphere. BUT I am wanting to relocate back to Sunshine Coast/Brisbane area due to family. I absolutely LOVE children of all ages, I find everything about them extremely precious and beautiful. I learn from them as much as they learn from me. I believe I was put on this earth to work with children, they bring such joy to my life. I enjoy having a positive impact on their lives, as they do on mine. I strongly believe children are capable human beings and strongly believe children learning through play. I am fascinated by the Montessori way of education. Although I seem quite young, I am confident and have worked with MANY children from infants, toddlers, and ages above. I am caring, loving, motherly, kind and gentle but I am tough and disciplined when I need to be, I work under pressure well. I am patient and tolerant, and I am great at problem solving. I get down on children’s levels, and try to keep them feeling as comfortable as possible, at all times. I enjoy cleaning and keeping busy. I love to sing and play games (perfect for keeping the kids busy!). I was a live in Nanny and became the local babysitter in London in 2010 (4 year old & 10 month old). It was a fantastic experience, and I enjoyed all of the gorgeous little British accents! I met a lot of great families and a lot of beautiful children. I have been nannying since age 18 and babysitting children of various ages since I was 14. I am comfortable with all ages from bubbies to teens. I am currently working at Rainbow Valley Early Learning Center as an assistant educator/support educator, I am working closely with high needs children and I adore it. I am more than happy to do house work if needed, I enjoy keeping busy and LOVE making your family/home life as easy as possible. I like to take care of the housekeeping so your precious time at home can be spent with your children :) I have my Blue Card and am soon to renew my First Aid Certificate, I will be undertaking the asthma and anaphylaxis certificate. I am happy to register as a Family Assistance Carer if needed. I look forward to hearing from you. I am willing to negotiate pay according to number of children, tasks etc

  • Diana Y - 28 year old Female   Last logged on 17-Apr-2016

Dear parents, My name is Diana. I am studying at Griffith University, Nathan Campus. I worked as an au pair for an Australia family about 14 months in China. My ex - job included taking care of 3 children for the family, cooking, a little bit cleaning work( we got an Ayi who did most of the house work), helping the kid's homework , sharing my country ,my culture and teaching Chinese. I 'd love to take care of the special needs children. Because the big brother in the family who is 10 years old has Down Syndrome, I love him so much. He is my little brother. Besides, I didn't got any experience for little baby, i'd prefer to take care of the kids who's age older than 2.

  • Gemma H - 24 year old Female   Last logged on 15-Apr-2016

Hi! My name is Gemma. I'm a 19 year old female who loves Kids (and pets!!). I am a responsible person and mature for my age, with various prior experience in caring for young children. Last year I worked in a Relief Teacher's Aide role at a special needs school, as well as an OSHC assistant in a mainstream Primary School. I left these jobs in order to begin full time study (Diploma of Justice) and got a job as a respite carer which had more flexible hours that suited my needs as a student perfectly. I am still working in this role at the family's home two nights a week, and I love it. There are 6 children- ages 7, 6, 5, 3, 18 months and 5 months. One of the children has Downs Syndrome, so I do have experience caring for children with similar disability, however I do not have any medical training aside from standard CPR and First Aid. MY duties include playing with the kids, bathing and dressing them, tidying the home (I am happy to tidy up all rooms, not just the kid's rooms) Washing dishes, helping with homework if needed, feeding the toddler if needed, preparing snacks (sanwiches/drinks etc- I will try my hand at cooking if you want, but I'm not very experienced in this area!)and accompanying the family on outings if needed. The reason I am advertising for another job is that as of December 1, 2011, I will no longer be studying and will therefore be in need of more hours than the current family is able to give me. I am, however, hoping to begin a Bachelor of Speech Pathology course as of March 01 2012, so I am only looking for full time work in between these dates. Having said that, I'd love to stay on for casul work outside of these dates if you want to keep me! I have not studied anything to do with childcare at TAFE or uni, but I do have a blue card and a variety of experience! I'd also like to point out that I have indicated on this form that I don't own a vehicle; this is because I don't currently own my own car, however I do have my lisence and am hoping to buy a car very soon. In the meantime I often am able to get a lend of my parent's car. Thank's for taking the time to read my profile, I hope to hear from you soon! Gemma.

I am a 18 year old young ambitious women, who has just finished secondary school with a certificate of merit. I have recently moved to Australia from New Zealand for a new experience. In New Zealand I was a volunteer surf life guard at my local surf life saving club, as well as lifeguard and swim tutor at the local pool. These positions aided me to gain extensive first aid certificate as well as AED ( Automated external Defibrillator) training as well as oxygen training. Through these highly regarded positions I was able to gain a wide range of knowledge on different behaviours and attitudes of children, as well as ways to deal with these. I really enjoy being around children because I find that their outlook on life and also their joy for life rather infectious as well as fascinating to be in the prescence of. I have my full New Zealand drivers license which is the equivalent of the Australian open license. I also have my own vehicle.

  • Carolina P - 24 year old Female   Last logged on 11-Apr-2016

I am Carolina, biology student from Argentina. I am here in Australia since December 2015 with a work and holiday visa. My idea is to travel around Australia for this whole year that my visa allows me and work to make a living through it. The most similar thing I did at home with children (beside babysitting) was tutoring and training. As I am in fifth year of Biology I tutor boys and girls from many ages in subjects like Maths, Chemistry, Physics and the younger ones(primary school) with any subject. I also played hockey at home and I was a hockey trainer for the youngest of my club that were between 3 and 5 years old and I am really passionate about both education and sports and activity. I think that is very important that children learn about teamwork, friendship, and healthy lifestyle since they are young. I am patient and kind but can be firm when needed. Fluent spoken and written english and quick learner.

I'm a very energetic person, always positive and willing to help and learn new things and reliable. I love to take care of others because my parents worked since I was a child so I used be responsible for my 2 brothers and that's why in holidays I like to take care of my neighbors or family kids when they need it and I'm free. Also, I had been a volunteer in an orphan for 2 years helping the kids with their homework and all the activities that we plan for them. I had no job experience as a nanny or babysitter but it's something that in one way or another I've been doing my whole life. Nevertheless, I have experience in customer service so two qualities that I have greatly strengthened are being patient and understanding.

  • Melissa B - 22 year old Female   Last logged on 07-Mar-2016

Hi everyone! My name is Melissa :) I am 22 year old Science graduate from UQ, who has been nannying for over 6 years in both a full-time and part-time/casual capacity. It is my intention to become a paediatrician; hence my interest in nannying throughout my studies :) I am a fun, friendly and caring person with extensive experience babysitting, nannying and tutoring. I have experience with children aged 6 weeks to 15 years, employed as anything from a full-time, live in nanny for a 4 year old boy, to the odd casual babysitting job for several families. Several of my roles have spanned the past 5 years and, as you could imagine, myself and those families have a very close, almost 'family' like relationship. Consequently, many of my regular clients have been told of me by word of mouth. My duties have included school pick-ups and homework help, driving to/from various activities and day care, general house hold duties and mothers help, meal preparation and of course, just making sure the kids have fun. More recent full-time nannying jobs have included all aspects of infant care. In addition to studying and nannying, I have been a volunteer leader at the Kenmore Baptist Church for over 7 years and frequently volunteer in paediatric theatre at the Wesley Hospital. Whilst working towards medical school entry, I am working full-time and studying a post-graduate in mental health. I have both a clean drivers license and car, as well as a blue card and first aid/CPR qualifications. Currently, I am employed 40 hours/week monday-thursday for a family with two young children; however this role is due to end at the beginning of March (flexible) and I am looking to replace this. If you are interested in having extra help, please feel free to contact me :) I am more than happy to send through my CV and to provide references.

  • Jenna G - 28 year old Female   Last logged on 01-Mar-2016

My name is Jenna and I am currently looking for some nanny work. A little about me. I really love working with kids and am very passionate about children in general. I have worked as a nanny overseas in the states for a family with 2 boys, aged 9 and 11. The oldest boy had low functioning Autism, so although he was 11 had the mental age of about 2.5, so I have experience with special needs. Those boys were my whole life for an entire year. I was with them from the moment they woke to the moment they went to bed. I did all duties concerned with them; feeding, bathing, playing with, teaching (and learning from them), driving to school activities, putting to bed etc. I also did the family grocery shopping and childens laundry. I was a volunteer at an after school facility for kids aged 5 - 12. I was as a nanny for four children aged 7, 6, 2 and 4 months(when I left, was with them 12 months). I was with them from when they wake to when the sleep too so did all duties from breakfasts and school lunches to nappy changes and bottles. I also did the laundry, some house cleaning and helping with family pet. I would love to look after children of any age and anything I do need to learn I will pick up quickly. I currently work with a family with 2 boys aged 14 and 16 but only 2-3 afternoons a week. As they are getting older their need for me is becoming less so I am looking for another job to do alongside this one. My current family is quite flexible and can work around other work I get. I have been with them for 5 years now, demonstrating that for the right family I am extremely commited.

  • Chlöe M - 27 year old Female   Last logged on 28-Feb-2016

As a highly motivated and creative individual, I have a logical approach to each task encountered. I have spent the last 3 years working as a Primary Music Teacher, a job that I absolutely loved! I have previously worked as a Learning Aid for children with special and additional needs in several schools and institutions. I have also cared for numerous children of all ages from various cultures and backgrounds. This included nannying, babysitting and childminding. I am diplomatic and aware of other people’s feelings and opinions. In my spare time, I enjoy a wide variety of activities such as yoga, cooking, swimming, and reading. I have played in numerous musical ensembles including symphony orchestras, choirs, indie bands, folk groups and classical quartets. Rehearsing and performing in such groups has enabled me to acquire skills such as timekeeping, management and delegation, working efficiently as a team and giving 100%. I have a keen interest in world cultures as well as local histories and also enjoy travelling, meeting new people and visiting galleries and museums. I find such experiences exciting and enriching. I am a dedicated aunt to 3 nephews and 2 nieces, aged 1 - 7. I care for all five children singlehandedly on an almost daily basis and regularly look after them for long weekends. Five children under 7 can be a handful at times, especially if they are sick or teething, but I rise to the challenge and enjoy spending my time with them. My eldest nephew is a high functioning autistic and has dyspraxia. He can at times display difficult behavior but caring for him is extremely rewarding and there is never a dull moment! Growing up, my parents fostered children with additional and emotional needs. It was fun having lots of younger foster brothers and sisters but also difficult at times. Some of the children were violent and disturbed and babysitting them was at times challenging. Such experience have taught me how to be more compassionate, understanding and tolerant person. I believe that every child deserves the chance to explain their actions, have time to think and reflect and have a second chance. Although I am not yet a mother myself, I have always been very maternal and caring. I am passionate about working with children and am at my best when doing so. I am kind and patient, supportive and understanding. I feel that with my experience, personality and professionalism I could prove to be the supportive, professional and caring nanny a family would enjoy working with.
