Hi Thank you for reading this. I do not usually apply for this type of work but felt I had a lot to offer parents with children who need them looked after during the day in the Coorparoo area. I have two grown-up children and two Grandchildren. They have all turned out to be very well adjusted kids. My Granddaughter used to go to Coorparoo State School then Cavendish road and used to come to me every day afterward. We always talked about everything, still, do and we had fun. Any worries she would talk to me about and we would get it sorted usually easily. As I said this is not my usual line of work but felt as an experienced family orientated person who enjoys children's company (and they enjoy mine) could help a local family with their every day needs as an extra pair of hands..

  • Stacie L - 28 year old Female   Last logged on 21-May-2018

I have been working in the childcare industry for just 4 years. I did my traineeship in Perth and then once I obtained my certificate went into the role of assisting educator. I then moved back to the Gold Coast to be closer to my family and worked again as assisting educator in the toddlers room and then took over as lead educator where I was in that role for 5 months. I have always had a strong passion in caring for children starting from a very young age where my mum noticed my nurturing nature. I also have 2 brothers who are much younger than myself that I helped raise when I was a teenager. I am very caring, loving, affectionate, responsible, organized, playful, efficient, active and softly spoken person. I have loved working in childcare centre's where I have mainly worked with Toddlers room but I am looking for more one on one time and more flexibility in doing things such as outdoor activities.

If you're seeking a mature, responsible nanny for your little one then you've come to the right place. In addition to many years experience as a carer I hold a Bachelor of Education in Early Childhood Education (birth to 8 years) and a Qld Blue Card. My previous nannying experience includes two boys aged 2 & 4, then their younger siblings from birth. I am still very close with this family, the youngest is 14, the eldest now 30 years old! Since 2014 I have been working as a casual (relief) educator with Goodstart Early Learning Centres, the full time Kindergarten Teacher in 2016. I am seeking part time employment as I also tutor privately part time on Wednesdays and Thursdays. These days are flexible however. In my spare time I volunteer at the RSPCA, love arts and crafts and have recently taken up trail walking. I look forward to meeting you and your family in the very near future.

In the future I would like a job in international development, but for now nannying and caring for children with disabilities is what I feel passionate about and I find it to be very fulfilling work.

  • Courtney P - 23 year old Female   Last logged on 13-May-2018

I have recently earned my Diploma of Early Childhood Education and Care and am currently seeking a position or opportunity to undertake work experience in the growing child care industry. Whilst diligent, driven and possessing a strong work ethic, I am sociable, considerate of others and can communicate effectively with a great variety of people. I thrive under pressure, am proactive, take initiative when needed and I am adept at multi tasking. Opportunities to improve my efficiency, skills, morale and work culture are eagerly sought out during employment. My aim is to continue to undertake roles which stretch my skills and knowledge. I have a current First Aid Certificate (including Asthma and Anaphylaxis training). My biggest passion in life is caring for children, cooking and sharing quality time with my family and friends, and this is reflected in my personal philosophy: Each child is a special, one of a kind, unique human being, and has the opportunity to become a rich, active and vibrant part of the community, with the proper encouragement and education. Children are active learners. They acquire knowledge and develop constantly, through play, watching others and just living life. Learning is happening all the time and is interwoven through all developmental domains including: physical, social/emotional, cognitive and communication. I believe it is important that early childhood education not only reflect the uniqueness of each child, but allow children to develop through personal preference and gentle encouragement.

  • Katrin K - 22 year old Female   Last logged on 05-Apr-2018

Hello! I have a lot of experience caring for children, most recently after school care for 3 children from ages 6 to 10. Where I got to help them with homework, bring them to the park, cooking, making lunches and light housekeeping. I really enjoyed my time with them and am now looking for a more permanent role. That's not my only experience, most of my experience comes from caring for my own niece since she was a newborn but also family friends young children. I'm used to doing it all, changing nappies, feeding, playing, comforting and putting down for naps. In 2014 I had an internship at a multicultural kindergarten back in Sweden. That's when I really realized how much I enjoy working with children. Other previous work experience includes working as a home caring assistant, with mainly older people but also younger people who suffered from different illnesses. I found the work very inspirational and it made me realize that I want to work with people of all ages. Housekeeping is also something I have a lot of experience in so light housekeeping duties or a thorough clean won't be a problem! I am very flexible with times but I do have a preference for daytime Monday to Friday. Afternoon/nights and weekends are not an issue though. Willing to obtain first aid certificate. I look forward to hearing from you, do not hesitate to ask me further questions!

  • Ella A - 19 year old Female   Last logged on 03-Apr-2018

Australian born and raised and I absolutely LOVE kids! I have 8 siblings and I regularly look after the youngest two who are 3 and 5. I would feel comfortable looking after children of all ages, and they tend to always love me and my bubbly, fun loving attitude. My experience consists of looking after family and friends children, as well as leading toddlers ballet classes a few years ago. I am currently working part time at a cafe in Brisbane City 2 mornings a week (Monday and Thursday) and I am hoping to enrol in a certificate 3 in Event Management at the end of September which will be 2 nights a week. I go to church every week and am a respectful and driven young woman. My other hobbies include cooking delicious and healthy vegan food, studying history and I also run a small women's group for traditionalist women of whom I like to discuss world and political issues with. I am looking for a consistent position preferably during the day/afternoon throughout the week although I am flexible with my weekend and night availability. I currently do not hold a blue card nor a first aid certificate although I am willing to gain these certifications. I am on my learners license so I rely on Public Transport for travelling & I plan to sit my Provisional license test shortly. I cannot wait to have children of my own, and although I do not have formal qualifications in the field I believe I would be a great addition to any families routine! Look forward to hearing from you :)

  • Jemma C - 20 year old Female   Last logged on 27-Feb-2018

Hi my name is Jemma and I'm a current university student at GRIFFITH studying a bachelor of Law/Psychology. I've had a range of experience with kids, from simple babysitting at people's homes and workplaces to coaching junior sports teams and also volunteering at pre-schools in my home town. These roles ranged from a couple of hours to days at a time, and also several years in the case of the teams I have taken care of; not to mention having been responsible for entire representative teams away from home for weekends at various competitions. The children I have cared for have ranged from approximately 3-13 years old, both boys and girls. I enjoy this type of role, and believe I am capable to handle the responsibility of caring for children any age or personality considering I have had experience working with many different personalities in the past. I feel that I am patient, approachable and understanding which makes me suitable for this sort of role. I hope to hear from you soon!
