I adore and love being in the presence of kids. I find them uncomplicated, uplifting, curiously clever and wonderfully funny. I am also a mum to a, now, young adult son who has kept me flexible and youthful all of his life. He is the reason I have been able to truly see the beautiful thinking and unique world of kids. They are special little people and that matters to me.

I am a civil engineer graduated two years ago, I have worked, but now I want to get out of my routine and get to know other cultures. I have two nephews, I had the opportunity to take care of them during their first years and sometimes even during the holidays. I have been attending the Adventist Church since I was 7 years old and there I have participated in volunteering with children from 3 to 16 years old. With them we go to camps, walks and many stories that you would have to share with your family. I enjoy traveling, discover new places, read, listen to music and enjoy the landscapes of nature.

  • Rhiannon - 19 year old Female   Last logged on 29-Apr-2019

Hi, I am an experienced child carer / nanny and have relocated from the Sunshine Coast to Brisbane as of October 2018. I have up kept a successful academic background and love putting this to use by helping with homework as well as being, what people have dubbed me 'a wonderful cook'. I am very flexible in my availability and know how to keep the kids entertained of all ages. I have been a part-time nanny for a family of 3 children previously who were aged 18 months (girl), 6 years (boy) and 9 years (girl) as well as occasionally babysitting other kids locally in Noosa. In addition to my experience of being a nanny, I have 2 younger siblings, one being 10 and the other 16. I love anything from playing Lego, beading (I have my own small jewellery business and can give some tips and tricks), braiding hair, bike riding, soccer, basketball, netball, visiting pet cafe's, music (I played Clarinet and Piano while in school) and anything else your kids have a passion for! In addition to nanny/babysitting experience, I have worked in Pharmacy for over 2.5 years therefore am knowledgeable regarding kids' health. Please also note I am very happy to help out around the house with chores such as laundry, ironing, dishes, vacuuming, cooking meals etc. as extra hours or when the kids are busy zoned into their homework. I am also free most mornings to assist with the getting-to-school rush if needed. I have a reliable car and hold a current Queensland drivers license. Thanks and I look forward to hearing from you! Kind regards, Rhiannon

  • Gabbie - 18 year old Female   Last logged on 27-Apr-2019

To Who it may concern, My name is Gabbie Pike and I have just moved to Brisbane from Toowoomba to commence a Diploma of Nursing at the Mater Hospital. The course requires me to attend the Mater 3 days per week on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday from 8:00 am 4:00 pm for the next 18 months. At the end of the Diploma course, I intend to continue my studies and complete my registered nursing degree in Brisbane and end up working in either Paediatrics or Midwifery. I read with much interest the position of a Nanny as advertised on recently, as it contained two aspects of a job which I thoroughly enjoy and are good at. Those aspects being working with children and organising and helping people. I have grown up in a family where both parents worked full time and so I can appreciate how time poor mums and dads are nowadays and how significant a role of a Nanny can be to a familys day to day functioning and happiness. I own my own car and have a provisional drivers licence. I have completed a Police Check and Working with Children check (Blue Card) and as part of the Diploma of Nursing course, I will be completing my Senior First Aid course within the first few weeks of the course which commences on the 1/5/19. Prior to moving to Toowoomba in 2016, my family and I lived just outside of Warwick on a small property. Both of my parents are teachers and so being around children has been a natural part of our upbringing. So too, was baby-sitting duties from time to time for some of Mum and Dads friends who had younger children. When I baby sat, screen time was not even considered as an option as being country children, they preferred to be doing things outdoors such as playing with the dog or their horse or playing games with one another outside or if inside, playing with their toys or doing craft work/lego/painting. When I was required to baby sit in the evenings, I was able to bath the children, get them dinner if required, clean up the kitchen and then put the children to bed and read them a night time story. I also have 7 cousins who have young children all under 5, so I am fully aware of the different levels of care and assistance each child requires depending on their stage of development. Whilst living in Warwick, I had a part time position at Talk N Heads hairdressing salon where I worked every Thursday evening and on Saturdays and during the school holidays. Then, when I moved to Toowoomba, I worked in a local caf doing early morning shifts before school and on weekends. During the last 5 months since finishing high school, I have lived in Warwick and worked at the salon on a full time basis. All of these jobs have taught me the importance of being able to follow routines, work to a schedule, work under pressure and to a time limit and be able to deal with a diverse range of customers. These are also skills that would be required in the advertised position of Nanny where I would be required to deal with a variety of people, follow a set routine, work to a timeline and at times work under pressure. I consider myself to be a very active person who loves to keep fit, eat healthily and be outdoors. Both of my supervisors will confirm that I have a lovely personality, that I am reliable, honest, hard-working, flexible and quick to learn new skills. I would dearly love the opportunity to work with you and grow to be a part of your family. I am able to commence work for you immediately. I can be contacted on my mobile anytime on: 0447 201 019. I look forward to being able to discuss what skills and attributes I can bring to this role in the very near future. Yours Sincerely, Gabbie Pike

  • Abby - 28 year old Female   Last logged on 20-Apr-2019

I have undertaken study in a Bachelor of Arts in Psychological Sciences at the Australian Catholic University. Although, I am only in my 3rd year of study, I am finding the experience more than rewarding in regards of my life goal within becoming a Child Psychologist. I have also recently embarked on further study within a Diploma of Early Childhood Education to further broaden my experience with children in preparation for my targeted career. I, myself have a younger sibling in which, on many occasions cared for in the absence of elders. I had been responsible for Bathing, dressing, feeding, playing, feeding again (and if needed, bathing again) with bed tucking and story included! I had always wanted to work with children all my life, I find growing up very hit and miss, especially when we don't obtain any guiding from the people we love most. The motivation for my choice as a career in Psychology is children. I have come to the conclusion that in my 26 years of existence we live in a system that outdated and it is up to the children, the legacy of each human being on this planet, to re-write and birth such a vast spiritual evolution of thought and perception that would shame our past accomplishment's. Thus leading me to my philosophy in life. The children are the future! We must nurture, educate with unconditional love! If my philosophy is agreeable to the qualities of that is seeked of an employer, I would make it my absolute objective to contribute all that is needed of me for the child, whilst remaining obediently respectful of the parent's or guardians wishes. I would handle each task bestowed upon me with great positiveness and vigorous care. I hope to put into practice all that I have learned in my study of Child Development, which to be honest does not beat finger painting! My full resume and cover letter is available if needed, please do not hesitate to ask! I am currently working my way to applying for a Blue Card, which would pair perfectly with my aspiring career as a Child Psychologist. Thank you for taking the time to read my very long winded description about myself, I hope to one day become your loyal employee and friend to your precious children.

  • Ashlee - 25 year old Female   Last logged on 30-Mar-2019

I have a naturally sensitive, fun and approachable demeanor with (everybody!) children. Firm but very fair and fun with older children. I come from a crazy family where I am the oldest of 7, 2 sisters and 4 brothers. So, although I have an NVQ Level 2 childcare (certificate 3), I actually started learning way before it! I volunteered two days a week in a pre-school during high school, started off my apprenticeship in a nursery. The nursery was only for a couple of months, then I moved to a childminders setting. This was my most enjoyable.
