  • Marlein - 33 year old Female   Last logged on 22-Jul-2019

Hi my name is Marlein I'm a Product Manager from Mexico City. I just moved to Melbourne with my Husband due to his work. I began as babysitter with my nieces (not in a formal way) but some weeks every 3 months I took care of them, 3 lovely girls 3m, 4yo and 15yo. When we moved I decided to make a career change, and prepare myself for in 2 years become a parent. I love Kids, taking them out if it's possible, but if not I whip out my story teller skills. In my free time I enjoy going to read at the beach, watching science fiction series (or whatever Netflix is offering), cooking (pretty much desserts).

  • Brooke - 23 year old Female   Last logged on 24-Jun-2019

Currently I am living in Melbourne and have recently been accepted into a Bachelor of Youth work which will commence this July. Youth work is an industry I am interested in after a back ground of caring for my younger siblings and being surrounded by children of all ages. I know that a main concern for parents when it comes to leaving their children is safety. This is of the up most importance to me and you can be assured that if anything were to happen I have a diploma of nursing (qualified enrolled nurse) and a current first aid certificate. I am confident in dealing with asthma, allergies, bumps and grazes, or anything that may arise as well as accessing help when needed. I also hold a current working with childrenís check. I am willing to help with extra curricular activities and hold my C class license and my own transport (if needed) to get children to and from these activities. I can do light household cleaning or cooking and can prepare meals or activities for the children. I believe that play is one of the most important aspects of a childís learning and encouraging them to use their cognitive skills, imagination and sense of agency all while developing their knowledge and resilience is essential while they are growing. I also am an avid supporter of growing healthy kids through healthy meals and lots of physical activities and games. I love children, and although I donít have any direct experience in this field I believe my life experience and enthusiasm for the job will be a great place for me to start learning and looking after your children. I also believe my previous and current degree as well as experience working in dentistry can bring some new skills and knowledge to the children as they grow.

  • Sofia Florence - 24 year old Female   Last logged on 13-Jun-2019

Hello, my name is Sofia! When I was in my last year of school, I decided to take a Diploma in Playwork and Childcare on the side of my A-Levels. Working at a holiday club as a lifeguard made me realise how much I wanted to pursue my qualifications in Childcare. Once Qualified, I worked as a Playworker and later a Leader at a holiday camp 3 years! I primarily lead and worked with the older group "the Kool Kidz"which were 9-14 years old. It as so much fun, planning active games, arts and crafts and educational activities for the children on a daily basis. I later fancied a change after university, and found a lovely family run nursery in my home-town. Here, I cared for children younger than I was used to (6 month-2 years). It was a welcome challenge and I learnt skills that I will definitely be useful for later life. For about 3 years in my spare time, I represented Allbairns Professional Childcare. This was a local minder and sitter company that prided themselves on qualified and quality employees. My ultimate goal, after a break from my studies, is to train as a secondary school teacher specialising in History and PE. In the meantime, I am hoping to use my Playwork Qualification to help me expand my knowledge of caring for children... More importantly I would like to discover the perfect balance of having fun, caring and education! I am looking for part-time nanny work and I am flexible to work around your schedule during the week. I am more comfortable with ages 4 years plus. As a lover of all animals, I am happy to walk or take care of animals you may have. I am also more than happy to help out around the house with laundry, cleaning or even some gardening! I am a fairly active individual, so in my spare time I liked to partake in different yoga classes and I also going to the gym. History is my passion, I read lots of historical genre non-fiction and fiction books depending on what mood I am in. I currently live with my brother, who has two troublesome Rhodesian Ridgeback dogs, whom I have to say are my other passion... Even though they are incredibly naughty! If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to get in touch! I look forward to hearing from you.

Hello families :) I have a FETAC level 5 qualification in Early Childhood Care & Education with Montessori. I have also completed modules in Social Studies such as, Equality and Diversity, Human Growth and Development, Social Studies and Psychology. I have completed my First Aid and received my certificate and also had Child Protection training. I have also completed Manual and Patient Handling as part of of my Social Studies Course. I have had to adhere to all the relevant health and safety legislations, work as part of a team with the other members of staff and communicate appropriately with parents. I have worked in the baby/toddler room, the preschool room, the Montessori room, this has given me good knowledge of the different curriculums of learning for children and also given me experience working with children of a variety of ages. I thoroughly enjoyed this work and experience. I am motivated to work with children and to promote and support their development. I am energetic and enthusiastic, my work in the creche has insured that I am thoroughly aware of confidentially and respect for all. I am fun, caring and loving and experienced in childcare. I am currently a nanny 4 days a week for two seperate families, however on of my family are seeking an au pair so I will only be nannying two days from July onwards on a Tuesday and Thursday. So I am seeking some new kiddies to look after and do fun activities on Monday, Wednesday and Friday. Feel free to ask me any questions you may have. Hoping I can help you out! Look forward to hearing from you guys :)

  • Isabel - 29 year old Female   Last logged on 04-Jun-2019

I'm Isabel from Singapore, here in Melbourne for a year under a working holiday visa. I hold a BA(Hons) Music from Liverpool (UK) and for the past two years, I was a freelance music teacher back home in Singapore imparting musical knowledge to children. I love interacting with children and getting them excited about music as much as I do, that's why I became a music teacher. I mainly teach preschoolers and primary school children. I also taught leisure piano lessons to toddlers and working adults. I may not have babysitting experience per se, but through my two years of interacting with various children from various age groups and nationalities, these children have taught me to be more intuitive -- to be adaptive in different situations, and to find a balance between letting children be creative and explore doing whatever they want in class, and when to say 'no' to them.

  • Nora - 28 year old Female   Last logged on 26-May-2019

Hey, im Nora 28 Years old and from Germany. Back at home I'm a state approved educator. I worked in different areas, with kids of all ages and backgrounds. In the last 3 years at home I worked with a group of 8 teenagers, they all had different disorders. My job was it to give life support and life training. I do my jobs with love and passion. Sadly I didn't studied this back at home. I just did a high school. Which means my degree is to low for Australia and it's hard for me to find a job in my subject. That's why I try now the Nanniejobs. I'm already old enough to had my own family if I wanted to :) which should mean, I'm organised, trustworthy, and i have experience. To be fair and honest, I'm still a traveller and I wanna see something from Australia. That means, plans and things can change. BUT I will always hold you updated! And I would never leave from one second to the next. I'm already one year in Australia, and I just did a trip down the east coast. I have one year left in this beautiful country. For now, I try to survive in Melbourne, I like this city and I really wanna stay for a moment. For this I need a job! Give me something to do :)

  • Hannah - 33 year old Female   Last logged on 21-May-2019

Hi Families! My name is Hannah, I've just recently returned to Australia after living abroad in Berlin for nearly 3 and a half years. I'm really excited to be home and following my passion of working with children, in particularly teaching Kids Yoga. In my time in Germany I was a Nanny and a Kids English Tutor and classroom assistant at an international school. We loved going to the park, painting, cooking, playing educational fun games and arts and craft. During this time I also worked on a mindfulness project with the children in my class, which enabled me to explore something really close to my heart. My vision is Kindergartens, Schools and High Schools implementing more programs focusing on teaching children meditation, art therapy and yoga allowing them to tune in and find the tools within saying true to their authentic selves. I love being outdoors, practicing yoga myself, getting out of the city and being by the water or in a forest hiking somewhere, riding my bike around, having a good laugh and finding joy in life's simple things. I've recently finished a Kids Yoga Teacher Training course and will continue to work towards my vision. I'm a strong believer in children being the real teachers and giving them 'invitation for exploration'.

  • Sima - 22 year old Female   Last logged on 13-May-2019

My biggest passion is looking after my two younger siblings (2 and 4 years old). We love doing activities together like art, sports and playing! I think having this experience makes me perfect for caring for young children. Besides caring for my siblings Iíve completed an internship in a kindergarten, where I looked after children between the ages of 0-6 years old. This position included daily care activities and supervising excursions such as to play grounds or the zoo! In addition to this, I used to plan and give ballet lessons to children under the age of 10 where they would learn basic ballet steps and techniques in a fun and playful environment. From the age of 16-18 I used to volunteer my time at a primary school in Germany. I would assist refugee kids with their homework, help them to improve their Language and confidence in a new country. Throughout my education I have had a constant role in minding 2 children 3 days week. When I return home I wish to further my skills by studying midwifery as Iíve realized Caring for and educating children is where my talents lie :) i canít think of anything better than to work with mothers and babies everyday and help them!

  • Sarah - 27 year old Female   Last logged on 07-May-2019

I am a third year student who enjoys working with children. I currently tutor students at the senior level but have worked in primary schools, after-school programs and babysitting which have included a much younger age range (1-13 years). I have been babysitting since I was 14 and have loved to watch children grow in their own home environments. Through my work in primary schooling, I have come to realise how paramount ones development is in not only academia, but social mobility too. Building confidence, I have found, is key! I'm 28 and I'm in Melbourne with a Working Holiday Visa. I am a cheerful girl, full of energy and I'm always looking forward to new experiences in both work and life. Besides, I really love travelling. I am looking for a job here as a babysitter to extend my professional and personal experience, useful for my future career and fundamental to realize my dream to open my own nursery school. After graduating in a Pedagogy and Psychology High School I enrolled at the University of Turin in the course of Child Development and Education: I gave all the exams and at this moment I am writing the thesis. Since I no longer have reason to remain stable in Turin because of courses and exams to give, I thought I could write the thesis by traveling and collecting experiences both professionally and personally. Since the last years of high school I have tried to fill the gaps that the school and university have in terms of practical experience knowing that in this type of work, responsibility and motivation are not enough so I attended extra school courses and trying to collect as many experiences possible through internships and temporary jobs as babysitter and also in the last three years I worked as a nursery school educator, a job that allowed me to gain personal independence but above all gave me good and strong professional experiences about the activities with children, planning long term goals in development and attention to the babyís and childrenís needs as in those delicate moments as wean, sleep and so on). Thanks to my work experiences and my open minded way of thinking, I have excellent organizational skills and I am able not to panic and quickly solve problematic situations. I think all the professional experiences are determining who I am and the way I do my job: I decided to work in contact with children because I am fascinated by their way of discovering new things and the world: it is a source of inspiration. Also when I do an activity with them I do not feel stress and all the daily problems disappear.

Hi, my name is Tim. I am 24 years old and I recently graduated in Criminology at Deakin University. I am hoping to pursue a career in policing. Becoming a Nanny would be a great change of pace for me, as my work experience is entirely in customer service, management, cleaning or sales. Because of this experience, I possess strong communication skills and I believe I take responsibility. My greatest personality trait is my empathetic nature, as I am a warm and considerate person; who is especially open minded. I think this reflects coming from a large family. For a hobby I play soccer, jog, read and play video games. I am inexperienced when it comes to being a Nanny, I am willing to learn and put the effort in. Available 24/7 & happy to work long or short amount of hours. I can clean in spare time & drive (P plate).
