  • Ellen C - 19 year old Female   Last logged on 14-Aug-2018

Im currently studying a Bachelor of Health Science at The ANU. I live on campus and have my own car so am able to provide transport. I love being with children and I have volunteered at a child care centre and at Black Mountain School. I was House Captain in year 12 and I really enjoyed working with students of all ages. I have tutoring experience, and am happy and able to help with homework of all levels. I completed an extensive first aid course at school and plan to update my qualification this year 2018. I have a current police check which I can provide. I currently work at a cafe on the weekends, leaving my weekdays free -- and I will also be available during school holidays for any extra help you need! I am active and energetic and would love to spend the afternoons/evenings engaging with children. When I was younger I had after school nannies who I loved -- so I understand the significance of the role for both the child and the parents. I am reliable and responsible and I would love the opportunity to meet and introduce myself!

  • Sasi S - 24 year old Female   Last logged on 06-Aug-2018

Hi , This is Sasi.I have worked in a childcare and aged care centre for past two years and found it a very rewarding experience. In my current job, I have particularly enjoyed developing the play curriculum and planning and implementing sporting and craft activities for the children at my private babysitting jobs. Some of my successful activities have included the rotating sporting activities and providing them with after-school study support. I am post graduate in Microbiologist and currently doing Masters in diagnostic pathology in the University of Canberra which help to extend my knowledge and skillsets I earned in biological science to support them in their studies and assignments as well. My social and friendly nature means I have a knack for connecting with children and adults from diverse backgrounds and I value the task of building community involvement, which I see as part of working in childcare. Child safety is always at the forefront of my mind and I am cool-headed in stressful situations. I applied for the certificate to work with vulnerable people(WWVP). If I am provided with an opportunity, I am willing to get a first aid certificate and police check. Attached please find my resume. Let me know if you need any more information.

  • Dannica H - 26 year old Female   Last logged on 02-Aug-2018

I have just returned from Japan after living there for one and a half years. During my time in Japan, I spent one year working in a preschool teaching English. In my class, the children were aged between five and six however, I also spent time with the other children who were from 6 months and older. I genuinely enjoyed working with children so I wish to pursue work in a similar field. Since I have returned home, I have applied for a Working with Vulnerable People card, I am expecting to receive the card next week. In addition, I completed HLTAID003, Provide First Aid course. I have also commenced babysitting an eight year old boy occasionally. As of August, I will be studying part time so my hours are fairly flexible, including weekends if needed. I am very clean and tidy so I am happy to assist with household chores too. I would describe myself as kind and caring and I think I get along with children very well. I really enjoy exercising and being outdoors. I'm quite a creative person so I enjoy drawing and arts and crafts. I enjoy cooking, especially Japanese food and I also enjoy reading Japanese manga and watching Japanese anime. I have learnt some of the Japanese language (I am still working on it) and I will be studying Japanese at ANU next year. I would love to share my knowledge of Japanese language and culture.

I am overly mature for my age. I love children and I also love taking care of elderly people. I am multi-tasked and like to run things on time, especially when I have a lot in mind. I have had so much experience in informal babysitting (I lived in a big extended family house growing up with many babies in the household that I was also responsible of taking care of) and communication with people. I'm a bit shy but when I get to know people I can talk more. I am currently studying 2nd year BA at the Australian National University. I have classes on Wednesdays and Fridays only, but I'd appreciate abit more leniency in case I need to do assignments.

Hello! I'm a first year university student studying Development Studies at ANU. I am originally from the Great Ocean Road in Victoria but have moved up to Canberra to study. I am 19 years old. Last year I took a year off study and went travelling overseas for 5 months, mostly on my own. In order to travel I spent the first half of the year working a number of jobs to save money. Since the age of 13 I have been babysitting children of various ages. Most of the time I have done this for children between the ages of 3 and 13, sometimes up to 6 children at once. I have mostly taken care of children in their own homes, providing food, activities and supervision. Although, in recent years, since having my licence I have also been responsible for taking children to and from school and providing care before and after this. I am looking for part time babysitting work mostly in the mornings before school, in the evenings and on weekends. I love the outdoors, sport, reading and get most joy from being with and around others. I'm friendly, fun, responsible and will give all my attention when babysitting. I have my licence and car and am happy to provide transport, fun activities and food!
