On and off, I have around 7 years experience with children of all ages in different parts of the world from living in a baby orphanage in Tanzania to being a private Nanny in London. Hello! If you are looking for an educated, experienced, and enthusiastic nanny look no further! I am currently a certified primary teacher in Canada, and I am relocating to Melbourne in August. I have a Bachelor of Education Degree, a Diploma in Special Education, my first aid certification, and my certificate as an early childhood educator. I have experience working with children from age 0-12. I have 4 years of experience being a primary school teacher, 2 years of experience working in an early learning centre, and 3 years of experience working in an after school care centre. • Vicky - 27 year old Female   Last logged on 03-Aug-2019

I'm an organised, playful and confident individual who is looking for work as a nanny. My most recent experience has been working with children and young people in care in the UK. For 8 months I worked in a children's home as a residential child care worker. This role has given me experience of working with kids aged 11-17 and although it was challenging, was extremely rewarding. Previously to this I worked as a Learning Support Assistant in a junior school for four years, working with children aged 7-11. This role involved providing pastoral care as well as learning support to the children. I enjoy helping children regardless of their background or abilities. It is so rewarding to see children have fun and make progress. I am available to work up to 5 days a week (these are flexible) and am available all day from before school until after school. I'm more than happy to do household chores. I am very arty, particularly with textiles. Currently I am most interested in hand embroidery but all aspects of arts and crafts appeal to me. In the UK I was a member of a netball team and also coached the girls' team for the school I worked at during my time there. In my spare time I enjoy going out for dinner with friends and family and going to art galleries or going on camping trips and sight seeing.

  • Luanne - 41 year old Female   Last logged on 16-Jul-2019

After finishing high school I started working as a child care worker in the babies room, toddler room and in the centres kitchen--preparing and making healthy hot meals. I thoroughly enjoyed my time developing young minds--through storytelling, music, rhythms, and fun interactive play. After the birth of my first son, I moved into an after-school position--where I had a great time interacting with children all ages--playing different sport, exploring arts/crafts, music/dance and homework. For almost four years I dedicated myself to the caring for other peoples children and loved every minute of it, but after the birth of my second son, I decided to take the skills I had learnt and become a stay at home mum--the greatest job I have ever had. I have obtained a police check (bluecard) and first aid certificate in the past, and are all too happy to acquire them once again.

  • Chelsea - 22 year old Female   Last logged on 16-Jul-2019

Throughout every stage of my life I have found myself in an environment in which I am king of the kids. At age 6 I became a big sister, this was the first taste of a passion that has evolved, invited opportunity and fostered experience. From a young age I Ďworkedí on school holidays and after school at a home daycare centre my mum once worked for, I attended, then a few years later my brother. I would read to the children, prepare lunch, assist with general learning activities, playing and of course nap time. I continued on doing this around age 12 where I became a leader for a junior youth group, four years down the track I had taken on and been coordinating both the junior and senior groups. I had become someone that these young people could trust and that rose above all else. Perhaps these simple connections in my experience, established between myself and children is because in fact I am still a big kid myself. I have a love for life that is excitable and a nature to nourish. I am intrigued by the young curious mind and the innocence of children. My goal in this life is to assist in maintaining that purity, encouraging the curiosity and supporting your little ones throughout their stages.

  • Magdalena - 29 year old Female   Last logged on 16-Jul-2019

Hello parents I am Magdalena, 28. I am a Polish girl living in Germany, Berlin. I came to Melbourne as a Work and Holiday visa holder for one year and I am looking for a job to call my second Melbourne home. I graduated from University of Wroclaw with a Master's Degree in English Methodology and Pedagogy. Therefore, I am an educator by profession. I have very good command of English language. Additionally, I speak German fluently and have a Bachelor degree in teaching German as a second language. I have a decent experience in working with kids 5 - 12 since I worked as an English private tutor teaching children age 6 -15 back in Poland. Moreover, having two lovely nieces myself helped me to develop my genuine love for kids. I enjoy cooking both traditional and healthy food. I would be happy to do prepare food for kids or make my favourite pierogis for the whole family. I am a neat person that is why I am willing to do some housework chores when necessary. I do not have a prior experience as a au pair or a nanny, however, I believe that I have all qualities needed not only to nurture and supervise children, but also to have fun and spend some quality time together. At the end, it's all about fun for children! Undoubtedly, as a young, creative and vigorous woman I am able to maintain great relationship with kids introducing discipline helping children to learn and have an active life. I am aware that au-pair's work is a great responsibility, yet, I feel very enthusiastic and sure about it. I am flexible and available throughout a week. I live in Brunswick so I would love to find a family nearby the area. I look forward to hearing from you. Best, Magdalena

  • Connor - 22 year old Male   Last logged on 02-Jul-2019

My name is Connor, I am a 22 year old Civil and Environmental Engineering student from Scotland. I am currently undertaking a 6 month exchange at the Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology. I have finished my studies for the holidays so I am free during the day and evenings and looking for a job in childcare to keep me occupied. From the age of 16, I babysat for two familys on a a regular basis with the kids ranging from 5 to 12 years old. When I finished school I moved to New Zealand and worked at the prestigous Kingís College, Auckland as a Gap Tutor. My role included tutoring school children, from 10-18 years of age, coaching rugby and cricket as well as working in the boarding houses in the evenings. I took on the role of supervising Duke of Edinburgh exiditions whilst in New Zealand, one trip entailed looking after ten 13 year-old boys on a week long sailing expidition. For the last three summers I have worked at George Watsons College in Edinburgh, one of the largest schools in Europe, as a coach at the summer sports camp. In this role I am responsible for organising and supervising daily activities for the children, who range from 5 to 16 years of age. This is a job that lasted 6 weeks and many of the children returned weekly, which required us as coaches to keep activites and games different and new in order to make sure the children remained interested and engaged day to day. At the end of this camp I was voted as coach of the summer by the kids, although this may not be an official award, I was touched that they chose me and take it as a testement to my likeability. My experiences working with children have given me the skills necessary to communicare and interact with children of all ages. I am able to arrange and plan engaging and fun activites to keep all age groups happy and entertained. Outside of childcare I have also completed an internship with J.P. Morgan in their London office, working in their asset managment division. On a personal note, I am the eldest in a family of five childern and have always loved the company of my siblings whilst also being very protective and caring of them. I am a very active person and love getting out and about, so rest assured your children will be kept active and entertained. I have a Groodle dog at home in Scotland who is the heart and soul of our family and i have always loved dogs, therefore i would be very comfortable in the company of your pet dog too.

  • Joanne - 24 year old Female   Last logged on 18-Jun-2019

I've been a Casual Nanny since I was studying my Arts degree at Melbourne University, majoring in Australian Indigenous Studies. Currently I work on contracted projects with various organisations that work with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander leaders and activists, that are usually part time roles 2 or 3 days per week, for a set number of months based on funding. In between projects and on my off days, I am lucky that I get to spend time reading, chatting, playing with and caring for children and young people. From a young age, I have always been that cousin that the aunties leave their children with, and then they have to peel their children away from me to take them home. For 2 years I volunteered at a local church youth group with children from grade 6 to grade 12, discussing questions about faith and religion. I organised weekly discussion questions and learnt how to identify and manage sensitive topics for young people. For the last 6 years I have volunteered at an Out of School Hours Learning Centre or Homework Club with young people from grade 5 to grade 12 from refugee and migrant backgrounds, organising homework schedules, supervising reading aloud, working on basic spelling, English literacy and numeracy. I also tutor several of the younger students per week, in a more 1 on 1 setting than Homework Club. You are more than welcome to speak to any of the parents of my current or former students. The first family I found through WeNeedANanny required school pick ups and basic homework support for a grade 5 and her grade 9 older sister, and providing after school snacks which I was happy to do. This girl was very shy and usually took a long time to warm up to new people, and her mother was very happy that we built trust and a strong bond quite quickly which helped her mum a lot when it came to getting homework done, and you're welcome to speak to her about that. Another family I recently looked after was a 1 and a half year girl and a 3 year old boy who I looked after while their mum worked from home. 6 months after I finished up with this family, apparently this little girl still calls out my name every time the doorbell rings, hoping its me! Her mum is happy to be my reference. I hope this gives you an indication of who I am and why I'm here, and what I'm looking for. For more stories and details about my flexible schedule, please do not hesitate to contact me.
