Hi, my name is Amie. I am a recent Fine Arts graduate form the University of Melbourne. Whilst studying the last 6 years I did various nannying/cleaning jobs, the main family I worked for, for the last 6 years. It was great to look after the two boys in this family and see them grow up from little boys to teenagers. I would love to continue this work, especially now my hours are more flexible. I am free days or nights for permanent or casual shifts and am happy to do the odd bit of cleaning and cooking also. References are available.

  • Jana P - 27 year old Female   Last logged on 21-Nov-2017

I have 2 little brothers aged 3 and 4 that i have helped my Mum raise since birth, so i feel very confident with young children. I also have experience with older children, having looked after kids of various family friends. I spent a year and a half working in children's entertainment as a fairy/character actor for children's birthday parties. I would run games, craft activities and was the regular face painter. I am currently in the process of starting up my own business doing children's parties, and I think babysitting is a great job to compliment this dream! I enjoy working with children because i love being able to add happiness to a child's day, and i love watching children learn and grow into multi-dimensional beings. I am very creative, and I love to share this with all the children in my life because I truly believe it is a valuable skill for current and future happiness and well being. I am more than happy to do housework and I am a great vegetarian cook (I can do basic meat dishes if required). I also love animals so any pets are not an issue, and I am more than happy to take dogs out on walks.

Hi! These work experiences have lead me to be quite compassionate and caring toward children and youth from any walk of life and I am very passionate about assisting young people in achieving their potential. I like to support and empower young people but also understand when a little authoritative nudge is necessary, although I always do so with kindness. I am currently free most often and am eager to get started meeting new youngsters!

  • Lauren J - 30 year old Female   Last logged on 05-Oct-2017

Hi, I'm a postgraduate student at the University of Melbourne. I'm technically 'local' but have lived and studied overseas for the better part of 2 decades. I love babies and kids, and though I'm not a professional caregiver, I am an eldest sibling and a very hands-on aunt of 14 nieces and nephews (at last count), and have taken the kids when my family members needed to work or travel. I've been a volunteer at the creche and children's church for a total of about 8 years between 2001 and 2015 and done some babysitting for the neighbour's kids (some who are now off to college..!). My dynamic with kids is gentle and kindly. They generally see me as a peer because I'm also kid-sized and have the luxury of time and patience to do the activities they enjoy and listen to what they have to say. I don't do particularly well playing in a tough or strict role, and will try to reason with behaviours that should change and ignore tantrums. I'm happy to help out with homework, cleaning up (vacuuming/ sweeping/mopping/doing dishes, drying and putting them away) and laundry (hanging up/taking down/folding clothes), and can make sandwiches, toast and cereal, but am not much of a cook. Much of the rest of my time is spent at Uni library ploughing through research papers and travelling.

  • Avery Q - 20 year old Female   Last logged on 17-Sep-2017

I'm an active, friendly and hard-working person who has 3 years of childcare experience. I love working with children, as they are a constant stream of entertainment and laughter. I readily engage with children, which more than often includes running around with them or participating in their imaginary play. I personally love to be outside so I encourage the children I watch to get some sunshine and play outside. My first job working with children was at a YMCA Childcare facility where I supervised large groups of children aged 3 months to 12 years. Then I had a number of families where I regularly babysat in evenings and weekends. Iíve also had a part-time and full-time nanny, and au pair position where I was trusted to look after the children, organize fun outings, make healthy meals, transportation, and discover an ideal daily or nightly routine.

  • Bri B - 23 year old Female   Last logged on 17-Sep-2017

Hi there, I've just arrived from London and am planning to live here in Melbourne for the next two years. I have over six years of babysitting/nannying experience with all ages and would love to continue to do so here in Australia. As an avid reader who is passionate about education, one of my favorite things about taking care of kids in the mutual exchange of knowledge and worldviews, and that each day looks different from the last. A bit about me: I am 23, recently graduated from the University of Texas at Austin College of Communications with a BS in Communications and a certificate in Teaching English as a Second Language. I enjoy reading, running, yoga, and cooking in my free time. Some of my favourite activities to do with kids are outings to the nearby park, baking cookies and banana bread, and reading together. At the moment I have a lot of flexibility and I'm looking for both casual and consistent roles. I'd love to send you my CV with references if you believe we may be a good fit.

  • Yael V - 26 year old Male   Last logged on 13-Sep-2017

Hi all, I'm a graduated social worker who has spend most of his time working with children with the age of 4 until 18. My role was to provide after schools activities based on creativity, outdoor games, homework support and small event organisations. This I did for 3 years which has giving me the experience of how to approach and communicate with different types of children. Back in The Netherlands, I took care of 2 boys, twice a week, where I started at 8 and finished around 4. This I did for over a year. In my experience, this was allot more easy then my work at the children/youth community centre. there was more space to interact and more chance to build up a better connection. I'm looking for a partime Manny job so that I can keep my experience updated and provide my care which I enjoy giving.

  • Cassandra W - 23 year old Female   Last logged on 07-Sep-2017

Hi families! I am a nursing student in my final semester of study and I am looking for some casual babysitting throughout the week on a continuing basis. Currently I work fixed shifts (Thursdays and Fridays until 3pm) at a hospital, however these shifts can easily be rearranged if required. Due to the nature of my work and study, I have all necessary certificates and training (such as CPR, anaphylaxis, first aid, working with children's certificate etc.). I was previously an au-pair for a family of four and occasionally babysit for other families on a continuum, so I have a lot of experience with children. Please feel free to have a look at my profile and message me if you are still looking/ if it looks like it will be a good fit!
